Homemade Natural Exfoliator

I have been searching for the perfect homemade exfoliator for a some time now and I just recently came across a great recipe. I love a good exfoliator/scrub for all of that unwanted and dead skin that is on my face.  I have used many scrubs for my face and have come to pick a few favorites. However, after testing out this homemade exfoliator I have come to truly love it!

The exfoliator is perfect because you can find all of the ingredients in your kitchen; Sugar, Honey, and Lemon. The recipe calls for a teaspoon of sugar, ½ teaspoon of honey, and a little bit of lemon juice.  I used this exfoliator today and followed the recipe exactly but as I continued to make the exfoliator I noticed that I needed to play around with the amount of each ingredient to get the right consistency. I added some more sugar and honey until I found the perfect consistency for the scrub. I scrubbed each part of my face for a few seconds and then washed it off with warm water. At first my skin started to get a little red, but I think the reason for that was because I may have been scrubbing too roughly. After drying my face my skin was INCREDIBLY soft. This homemade scrub is my new favorite way to exfoliate my face and I don’t see myself going back to purchasing any store products to exfoliate.Image

The sugar is great for the exfoliation due to its texture, the honey is a natural antibacterial and helps with acne and finally the lemon is an amazing natural face brightener.  All in all this was a great at home exfoliator that practically doesn’t cost you anything. I definitely recommend testing this out to see how it works with your skin; who knows you may never purchase a store bought exfoliator again after testing this out. (Keep in mind you should only use a exfoliator/scrub 2-3 times maximum per week).
